Dear Yuriy,
I am sorry that the software did not meet your expectations. I did some investigation and here is what I came up with:
You submitted 4 book projects of which, only the first one had the Source influence set to “Strong”. The other three had the influence set on “No influence” which basically means that the sources do not affect the TOC (this is a “lazy” mode used mostly by customers who upload lots of sources that are not necessarily relevant and want the AI to use them only when it finds them useful).
I examined why your sources were not integrated only for the book that had the “Strong” influence setting, and it looks like there are a couple of reasons:
- First, the book was in Russian, so requests to the knowledge base were for Russian “embeddings” that did not yield anything because the sources were in English. Any language mismatch between sources and book content will yield this.
- Second, the book was only 10K words long. The AI had to create a TOC on the description you provided (which did not reference the sources in that project). However, with the sources in English and the TOC in Russian, and the very few sections that could be afforded in 10K words, it created a very general TOC that did exactly what you said and provided general advice.
To summarize, of the 4 projects you submitted, only one could have used your sources to the degree you wanted the software to, but even that project failed mainly because of the language mismatch.
Also, regarding your ticket, you reached out to us on 3/25/2025 and we responded on 3/26/3025. We also resolved an issue where the book was stuck (due to Russian language) within the same day. I searched your email address in our email account and did not find any emails.
Also, for other interested users that might be reading this...
- Youbooks shines in longform content that is in the tens of thousands or even 100K+ words. For 10K word projects, we recommend using Google gemini that has a massive context and is free.
- Youbooks is not the right software if you have very specific expectations of what you want your book to be like. Due to the fully automated process, and the vast possibility space of what a book can be, it is virtually impossible to deliver a book that matches one’s vision. If ChatGpt cannot deliver an article that matches your vision exactly, then Youbooks won’t be able to do the same for a book either.
- We must reiterate that, although hundreds of people are using Youbooks to produce books in non-english languages, the feature is not yet supported. The software does include a separate Translation module which you can use to translate a book to another language. However, AI based translation is not at the level of producing publish-ready books yet, in our opinion.
